I love me some broccoli, and all of this rainy/stormy weather we've been having has got me thinking about it (recipe-wise) a LOT lately...along with soup.

With these thoughts running through my head all morning I ran home for lunch, threw a few things into the food processor, and so far so good. I think I may be on the fast track to creating a really yummy raw "Creamy Broccoli-Parsnip Soup".
The only trick is going to be the heating aspect of the soup. I'm playing around with the idea of buying a food thermometer, this would make heating the soup on a stove a little less scary....and to be perfectly honest with you all, I've had really amazing cold raw soups before but nothing will ever compare to a big warm cup of soupy-goodness.

Stay tuned!

Warm soup is even more important in parts of the planet that experience winter. :-)

Can't wait to see what you pull off!

I love, love, love broccoli soup! It's one of my favs. I can't wait to see how you make it. Confession- I eat soup about three times a day. Today I had barley, mushroom and kale soup 3X and tomato soup once. Rounding out Friday's meal plan is spinach lentil. I was at a party once and they had this party-trick girl who was going around writing down birthdays and numbers etc and she told me I must eat soup and drink tea all day long to stay warm. LOL. Something about being fire or water or awesome or whatever. But I use it as a justification for my life-long insane soup habits. "But the alternative healer/girl who bought an astrology book at Borders TOLD ME I WAS SUPPOSED EAT SOUP!!!" Our default breakfast place is Los Bagels because they always have vegan soup. Nate said it can't be my favorite food though because it's "too broad." Whatever. His mom is too broad.

try a sort of gazpacho deal. make a thinish broth and chunk the broccoli. although i would puree or process the parnips - they can be a bit overwhelming.
