We are almost on our way out the door, heading down to SoCal tomorrow as soon as I get off of work...
But I couldn't leave without at least sharing one more recipe with you guys.
This one is a keeper, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed perfecting this recipe...because it's so damn tasty!

Counter Top Stuffing - the best holiday day food ever!

Merry Xmas ya'll!
I am relieved that the holiday is over, but sad in a small way too.
Family was wonderful tonight: bonding with the not-so-lil'-sis, Wii bowling, stinky-dog petting, stuffing my face with yummy food, laughing to the point of snorting, smiles, memories, and tons of wonderful affection from my awesome hubby. Cheers!

My favorite gifts (from the hub) are as follows: the most' perfect porcelian elephant (40's era), old-school canvass vans (the feet kind), and a verrrry thoughtful book titled "The End of Faith" by Sam Harris --- I can't wait to sink my eyeballs into it!

At the moment I've got a very sweet little Kona sleeping at my side --- her parents are on an Xmas holiday in Ashland, so D and I are doggy-sitting until tomorrow. We are very happy to have her, and I think Lucy is too. Lots of cute doggy/holiday pics to come.

For now, how about a cute snap of me and my adorable sister?

sarahfae: (dear diary)

This weekend has been a insanely busy.
We're actually done with Holiday parties...thank-freaking-god. But really, they've been wonderfully fun. D and I make spending time with our friends during the Holidays a major priority.
Next up: family time. Christmas Eve is going to be super special this year. I'll write more about that later though.

So today, as I was heading home from running errands I decided to take a different route than usual...and what did I see. A table and chairs in the front yard of someones house with a "free" sign on them. I know, I know, this sounds SO icky and white trash...I mean, to have a crap-load of stuff on your lawn with a free sign sitting on top of it. But in all honesty, this is just the kind of thing you see a lot of in our town.
So anyways, as I'm driving I see this table and chairs out of the corner of my eye and flip a bitch to check it out. After all, D and I are in desperate need to get a bigger/better table for our dining-room...and I'm not above taking a free-be from a front yard.
The table was AWESOME. The chairs not so much. So with one quick call B and C met me at the corner of 18th and Harrison, and just like that I got us a new dining-room table. Yay. It seats eight [six comfortably], and with a little tlc it's going to be the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends and family. I'll show it off soon.

After the table adventure B and C convinced me to tag along with them on a quick trip up to Kneeland to find some snow. Once the snow was located [at the Kneeland elementary school] we threw a ton of snowballs, swung on the swings, and because D was busy with work and band practice, built a snowman in his honor:

...favorite Christmas decorations that is.
Perverts!!

Here's our tree --- pay no attention to the piano bench in the lower left hand corner. We just keep it there in case any of our friends want a photo-op in front of our oily crooked tree.  And yes, we have just about a million ornaments.

The next post will feature pics of my favorite holiday decorations. Care to do the same?

Well...

The kitchen is clean.
The fridge is packed full of leftovers that will be divied up between random friends throughout the next few days.
The puppy and kitties are snug in their respective sleeping areas.
The 50's XM channel is rocking softly in the background.
...Lola is chewing on some plastic-wrap underneath the computer desk right by my feet....not anymore though...

Thanks to all of our wonderful friends who came out to celebrate the Holiday with us. It was perfect because of you guys!

Pics to come...

We are leaving town tomorrow after I get off of work - bound for the Bay area, and a VERY overdue mini-vacation.

Me<------excited!

Thursday morning we'll arrive in Santa Cruz and hang out on the boardwalk until our friends Keil and Jerri show up - and from there we'll spend a "double date" at the Catalyst, rocking out to Reverend Horton Heat, Nashville Pussy, and The Supersuckers

Friday morning it's back up to San Francisco, where we'll [hopefully] watch the Dodgers beat the Giants, maybe hang out on Pier 39 for the big July 4th fest, and stay a night in the historic Hotel Mark Twain. We also might end up checking out Whiskey Thieves - supposedly a really cool dive bar around the corner from our hotel.

Booting alcohol out of my system has become really appealing. Not that I'm an acessive drinker, maybe a glass of wine or champagne in the evening. But since my bladder infection/infliction, I've just had no desire what-so-ever for alcohol anymore. I think I'm going to keep this up, and reserve light social drinking for the weekends. I not only feel substantially better, but my complexion has improved, I'm waking up earlier, and sleeping more sound.

D and I are going to buy kayaks!! We've just started to research - so no purchase yet - but soon!

Simplicity in life = no stupid drama.
