Thanksgiving was a complete hit - minus the stress of food/party prep. It was wonderful having a mix of family and friends, lots of laughter, and even a few happy tears.
I think that D and I pulled off being quite the domestically blissful Thanksgiving husband and wife. And we've got the leftovers to prove it. If anyony wants to come over for a snack this weekend there's still a plethora of vegan and non-vegan eats.
At the moment I'm sitting on my couch, listening to Nat King Cole sing "Mrs. Santa Claus", sipping on a cold beverage, and starring at our Christmas tree (I named him George).
Yep.
D and I couldn't wait to get our tree, so we spent all day ringing in the Yule-tide cheer - while creating a couple of our own holiday traditions. George sits right in front of our huge living room window, so people can see the tree as they drive by our house...a silly thing I've always wanted to have since I was small.
My little snowy village is set up on the piano, the candles are a glow - and before we decorated the tree we both danced in the kitchen, took a shot of our hard alcohol of choice, I strung the lights (white ones this year - my fav), and D put the star on the top. We finished decorating the tree together and listened to Christmas music - the old timey kind...my favorite.
Thank you to Andrew, Jess and Jude for our first "Foster's" Christmas tree ornament. We love it - and it fits our home perfectly.
Now we get to plan our house-warming/holiday party!!!! I am really excited about this - and so is D!! The theme will guarantee fun for all, I promise!
Time to get ready for a night out.
