I'll show you mine if you show me yours

In lieu of it being Friday, and the end of a slightly insane work week (oh wait, it's always insane here) I thought I'd post some pics of my work desk. Why? Because it's a place where I spend a LOT of time (thinking about food, and other various non-related work stuff - shhhh!), and it's crammed full of silly stuff to look at --- which, if you know me at all then you know I like silly stuff.
Happy Friday friends!

Lets start off the day with an enormous cup of tea (Morning Thunder to be exact).
I have a thing for drinking tea out of Christmas themed mugs. It makes me happy - unless of course the mug is train themed. Have I mentioned how much I love trains??

Bananas! A bit too bruised for my taste - but they've gotta be eaten! And I also like to (sometimes) fasten my fruit stickers to my monitor.

The only two photos on my desk. It took a little while for D to be okay with that booming Buster pic (hehe). The photo of us was taken on my 26th b-day. D had just thrown me the only "surprise birthday party" I'd ever had --- I was so happy that I cried that night. The next morning we went on a hike through beautiful Fern Canyon and underneath the magical green forest canopy he asked me to marry him.

Further proof that I like silly things. Grey-Kitty was a toy I had when I was a little girl, Norman the Owl was a stocking stuffer from the sis on this last xmas, Alien-Monster-dude was actually a recent gift - randomly stuck there by my boss, that BADASS pull back steam engine toy was a gift I bought for myself on my last visit down south to see my bestist friend C, and Wonder Woman was given to me from a past co-worker.

My whiteboard with two of my most favorite quotes. I haven't been able to write any new ones because I'm a bit attached to seeing these every day.

Since I forgot to post this yesterday - these are the shoes I wore. I picked them up when I was in SF last August with the sis and have only wore them twice. Maybe because it's kinda hard for me to wear and match "denim" shoes with an outfit, and maybe because they're 5 inch heels. Either way I like 'em.

K, bye!

Date: 2010-02-12 07:29 pm (UTC)That is a frickin awesome place to propose.
The fair-trade stickers on your monitor made me all happy. My work desk is so blah, and I'm convinced it's the lack of fair-trade stickers. I will endeavour to save some of those things.

Date: 2010-02-12 09:47 pm (UTC)only a week afterwards, in the SAME exact place (Fern Canyon) there was a mountain lion attack.
we look back to that moment with romantic memories, and amazement that we weren't the ones who were mauled. yikes.

Date: 2010-02-12 10:33 pm (UTC)morning thunder is gooood. it's smooth and earthy, but not bitter like most black teas. i think the yerba helps to smooth it out a bit.
