For Better or For Worse
Aug. 30th, 2008 11:35 pmI've been following this comic strip for as long as I can remember - growing up with the characters... Michael was a kin to my big brother, and I totally identified with Elizabeth. I cried when their dog Henry died, learned about "homosexuality" for the very first time when Lawrence "came out" as the first gay one dimensional character in the 90's, and now as the story comes to a close I feel more then a little sad, and even much more then a little forlorn.
Every week day for at least seven years now my morning routine has consisted of waking up, checking my email, and reading "For Better or For Worse".
I feel so silly to be choked up about the end of a comic strip. But I am. And I'll hopefully be purchasing the entire 29 year compilation someday. For now I'm left to reading archives online.
( The end of an era... )
