Snow, and free furniture

This weekend has been a insanely busy.
We're actually done with Holiday parties...thank-freaking-god. But really, they've been wonderfully fun. D and I make spending time with our friends during the Holidays a major priority.
Next up: family time. Christmas Eve is going to be super special this year. I'll write more about that later though.

So today, as I was heading home from running errands I decided to take a different route than usual...and what did I see. A table and chairs in the front yard of someones house with a "free" sign on them. I know, I know, this sounds SO icky and white trash...I mean, to have a crap-load of stuff on your lawn with a free sign sitting on top of it. But in all honesty, this is just the kind of thing you see a lot of in our town.
So anyways, as I'm driving I see this table and chairs out of the corner of my eye and flip a bitch to check it out. After all, D and I are in desperate need to get a bigger/better table for our dining-room...and I'm not above taking a free-be from a front yard.
The table was AWESOME. The chairs not so much. So with one quick call B and C met me at the corner of 18th and Harrison, and just like that I got us a new dining-room table. Yay. It seats eight [six comfortably], and with a little tlc it's going to be the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends and family. I'll show it off soon.

After the table adventure B and C convinced me to tag along with them on a quick trip up to Kneeland to find some snow. Once the snow was located [at the Kneeland elementary school] we threw a ton of snowballs, swung on the swings, and because D was busy with work and band practice, built a snowman in his honor:

We grabbed a free recliner off a lawn on Myrtle a few years back. We had a friend with an old truck with wooden slat railings and we put the chair in that, dressed up "country" grabbed some old guitars (nope, can't play them) and drove around Old Town having a Bubba Sparks sing-along. I loved that chair.

I am SO excited about the low snow levels. We haven't made it up yet (hopefully after Christmas) but I'm so excited for sledding!

Man, I'm so wishing I could've tagged along for that adventure!

We're all planning on taking a trip up to horse mountain for some sledding sometime after the holidays. You guys should totally come!

What a cute snowman!! And I'm all about taking free goodies. I got a perfectly good TV stand thingie, a couple of tray tables, and a few other things that were "curb furniture" when I first moved into these apartments. I've had them three years now - why pay a lot of $$ for something you can get for free??

And btw, I LOVED your Christmas card, thank you so much!!
